Pipeline
Agree what evidence moves an opportunity into each stage. Separate a seller’s next task from a buyer’s actual commercial progress.
Sales operations agency · RevOps · London
GTM Quest is a sales operations and revenue operations (RevOps) agency in London.
We set up the pipeline stages, CRM, routing, data and reporting that let a B2B revenue team sell more and guess less, in HubSpot, Salesforce, Attio or Pipedrive.
We build RevOps alongside the go-to-market it serves: the same people who design your outbound and ABM design the CRM behind them.
We run it with you, or hand it over documented.

01/ our service
Six parts, built in order.
Each is documented and yours to keep: the stages, fields, workflows and reports stay with you when the engagement ends.
01
Each stage defined by what the buyer has done, not what the seller hopes.
Written down, agreed by sales leadership, enforced in the CRM.
02
Marketing, sales and customer success agree what counts at each hand-off, and how fast the next team acts on it.
03
Fields, objects, permissions and automation in HubSpot, Salesforce, Attio or Pipedrive, with duplicates merged and required fields that reps will actually fill.
04
Leads and accounts reach the right owner in minutes, with context.
Enrichment and signals flow in through Clay and our own Postgres database.
05
Pipeline coverage, stage conversion, velocity and a forecast built on stage evidence, in dashboards leadership looks at weekly.
06
An audit of every sales tool you pay for: what is used, what overlaps and what can go.
Fewer tools, better connected.
RevOps is part of how we build a go-to-market.
It sits under our lead generation and marketing automation work and our ABM agency programmes, and it is the core of GTM engineering.
02/ your symptoms
Most teams come to RevOps with one symptom.
Pick yours to see where we would start.
Which sounds most like your revenue team?
Forecasting
Forecasts miss when stages mean different things to different reps.
We define each stage by buyer evidence, clean up open deals, and build a forecast view from that evidence.
First result: a forecast you can explain line by line.
Routing
One definition of a qualified lead, routing rules that assign owners in minutes, alerts with context, and a report on what happened to every lead.
First result: no lead sits unowned.
Data
De-duplicate, standardise fields, enrich missing data and make the few fields that matter required, so reports mean something.
First result: one record per company and person.
Stack
An audit of every tool, its cost and its use; then fewer tools, properly integrated, with the CRM as the system of record.
First result: a shorter stack that does more.
What it costs. Every engagement is scoped and quoted in writing after the discovery call.
Platform licences and data tools are separate lines.
03/ the discipline
Sales operations makes a sales team more effective through process design, technology, data and analysis.
It owns the CRM, the sales process, reporting and forecasting, territories and quotas, and often compensation and enablement.
Revenue operations (RevOps) extends the same work across marketing, sales and customer success, so the whole customer lifecycle runs on one set of data, definitions and reporting.
Many people now use the two terms interchangeably; the difference is scope.
Gartner predicted in 2021 that 75% of the highest-growth companies would deploy a RevOps model by 2025.
Its current guidance says companies with advanced-maturity RevOps are twice as likely to exceed revenue goals as those with intermediate or developing maturity.
Sellers' time is the scarce resource.
Salesforce's seventh State of Sales report, a survey of 4,050 sales professionals in 22 countries, found reps spend 40% of an average week selling.
The rest goes on prospecting, admin, data entry and meetings.
Good sales operations gives some of that time back.
And the data under it is often weak.
Validity's 2024 study found 24% of CRM admins say less than half their data is accurate and complete, and 31% say poor data costs them at least 20% of annual revenue.
They sound alike but are different disciplines.
Sales and operations planning (S&OP) matches demand forecasts with supply, production and inventory.
It is a supply-chain process.
Sales operations is about how the sales team sells.
This page is about the second.
04/ what it covers
05/ the difference
Traditional sales operations and revenue operations, side by side, plus how an agency compares with an in-house hire.
→ If marketing and customer success hand work to sales, you need RevOps. If sales stands alone, sales operations may be enough. More in RevOps vs sales ops.
→ Often both: we build and document the system, then hand it to your first RevOps hire.
→ A fractional lead suits ongoing ownership; we suit a build tied to your go-to-market. Some teams use both.
06/ the process
The order we work in.
Each step ends with something documented that you keep.
How deals really move, what the stages mean in practice, where data is missing and which tools are used.
Stage exit criteria, the qualified-lead definition and the hand-off agreements between teams, signed off by their leaders.
Fields, stages, required data, automation and permissions changed to match; duplicates merged and records enriched.
Routing rules, alerts with context, and integrations with marketing, sequencing and billing tools.
Pipeline, conversion and velocity dashboards; a forecast view built on stage evidence; documentation and training.
07/ measurement
These are standard working measures, not industry benchmarks.
We report them against your own history, not someone else's average.
08/ the CRM
We work with the CRM your team already uses.
Salesforce suits complex, customised sales processes and large teams; HubSpot suits teams that want marketing and sales on one platform; Pipedrive and Attio suit smaller teams that want something fast and simple.
Switching CRM rarely fixes a pipeline problem on its own.
What matters more is what sits in it: clear stages, clean data and a small number of fields people actually fill in.
For head-to-heads, see HubSpot vs Pipedrive and HubSpot for B2B.
09/ data rules
A CRM full of business contacts is personal data.
The ICO is clear that UK GDPR applies to B2B marketing whenever you process personal data such as the name of the person who represents a business, and that business contacts can object to marketing at any time.
So we record where each contact came from and the lawful basis for using it, keep one do-not-contact list that every tool respects, and limit who can export data.
This is not legal advice; it is the hygiene every revenue team needs.
10/ before you sign
01
Ask how they define stages and who signs them off.
A tool-first answer is a warning.
02
Ask to see stages, routing and reports they have built on yours.
03
Names, experience and how many clients each person handles.
04
Access, exports, lawful basis and where the data is processed.
05
Admin access, documentation, dashboards and training are all yours.
06
Notice period and break clause.
Licences should be in your name.

GTM Quest editorial guide · Updated 10 October 2026
Choose sales operations support for pipeline definitions, routing and dependable forecasting.
Practical guide · 01
A sales operations agency can configure systems, but your team must decide how it sells. Start with a problem such as inconsistent stages, unclear ownership or unreliable handoffs. Give the engagement a defined operational output rather than a request to improve the entire revenue function at once.
Agree what evidence moves an opportunity into each stage. Separate a seller’s next task from a buyer’s actual commercial progress.
Define account and territory ownership. Include existing customers, group companies and records requiring manual review.
Explain the forecast categories and inspection process. Require commercial context rather than assuming a CRM probability is a reliable prediction.
Practical guide · 02
Before commissioning more dashboards, inspect whether the underlying definitions are coherent. Different teams may count the same event differently. Ask the agency to reconcile a report to representative opportunities and explain exclusions, missing data and changes over time.
Document each measure, its unit and its source. Make time windows and treatment of reopened or transferred deals explicit.
Trace sample totals back to records with the sales manager. Investigate unexpected results before treating the dashboard as authoritative.
Assign ownership of data quality and definition changes. Keep report documentation available to the people using it.
Practical guide · 03
Fictional example: a parent company and a regional subsidiary are assigned to different territories. The agency needs to clarify the commercial relationship and create a usable ownership rule. Renaming records without agreeing account responsibility would leave the conflict unresolved.

13/ questions
The questions B2B teams ask before hiring a sales operations or revenue operations agency.
A firm that sets up and improves how a sales team works: the sales process, CRM, data, routing, reporting and forecasting.
See what we set up.
The same work across marketing, sales and customer success, so the whole revenue engine runs on one set of data, definitions and reporting.
An operating model that aligns marketing, sales and customer success around shared data, process and technology.
Gartner says companies with advanced RevOps are twice as likely to exceed revenue goals.
Scope.
Sales operations focuses on the sales team; RevOps covers the whole lifecycle across marketing, sales and customer success.
Owning the sales process, CRM, reporting, forecasting, territories, quotas and often compensation and enablement.
See core functions.
They audit your pipeline and CRM, agree definitions, rebuild the CRM around them, connect data and tools, and build reporting and forecasts.
Then they run it or hand it over.
Most quote after a call.
We scope and quote in writing after the discovery call, with platform licences and data tools as separate lines.
Often both, in that order: an agency builds and documents the system, then your hire runs it.
See agency vs in-house.
If the operations work sits inside a wider route to market, see what a go-to-market agency does.
Yes, and with Attio and Pipedrive.
We work with the CRM your team already uses rather than replace it.
Usually because stages mean different things to different reps.
Define each stage by buyer evidence, clean up open deals, then forecast from that evidence.
See where it hurts.
Salesforce's survey of 4,050 sales professionals found reps spend 40% of an average week selling.
No. Sales and operations planning (S&OP) matches demand with supply and production.
Sales operations is about how the sales team sells.
A senior RevOps lead working part-time, a set number of days a month.
It suits ongoing ownership; an agency suits a defined build.
We plan for working stages, routing and reporting by around week six, then improve from there.
Large Salesforce or multi-region projects take longer.
