B2B marketing agency Italy and how to hire a B2B digital marketing company

GTM Quest is a London go-to-market agency for B2B teams selling into Italy.

We build the plan, the account lists and the outreach around Italy's rule that marketing email needs consent, even when the recipient is a company.

We also help you brief an Italian agency where the work needs Italian.

Then the guide: where Italy's B2B buyers are, the rules, and twelve Italian B2B agencies, most along the northern industrial corridor, re-checked on their own websites in September 2026.

01/ our service

Selling into Italy what GTM Quest does for you

We are based in London, not Milan.

What we bring is the go-to-market work that decides whether an Italian launch pays: which accounts to target, what to say, how to reach them lawfully, and how to measure it.

01

A go-to-market plan for Italy

Which segments to enter first, which accounts are worth pursuing, and what you will say to them.

Written down in the first weeks while the first conversations run, and before any money goes on media or an agency retainer.

02

Account lists you own

Target accounts and the people in each buying group, enriched in Clay and held in a Postgres database that stays with you.

Built for Italy company data, not a UK list with the country changed.

03

Outreach that respects local rules

Email, LinkedIn and calls sequenced around what the Italy rules allow, not around the UK's corporate-subscriber exemption, which most of Europe does not have.

04

LinkedIn and founder-led content

Posts and paid LinkedIn aimed at the same account list, so outreach arrives from a name buyers have already seen.

English first, local language where it matters.

05

A local agency, briefed properly

Italian buyers expect Italian: on the website, at the trade fair and in the follow-up.

We write the brief, shortlist Italian agencies and sit in the pitch with you, so every agency quotes for the same thing.

06

A system you keep

Documented, trained and handed over.

The lists, sequences, dashboards and playbooks stay with you when the engagement ends.

Because Italy requires consent for B2B email, the programme leans on LinkedIn, trade fairs, content and account-based marketing before any email.

Those channels need no consent to start, so the motion still starts on day one.

02/ engagement

How we work with teams selling into Italy

Every engagement starts the same way: the motion on day one through LinkedIn, content and warm introductions, with the system built around it.

The difference is who runs it afterwards.

How much of your Italy go-to-market do you want to own?

Handover + support

We hand over, then stay close

Everything in Handover, then one or two days a week of senior help to optimise and troubleshoot.

  • ✓ Everything in Handover
  • ✓ Weekly optimisation
  • ✓ Deliverability monitoring
  • ✓ Local-agency briefing support

Best for teams building their own capability.

What it costs. Every engagement is scoped and quoted in writing after the discovery call.

Media, data and tools are separate lines.

More on the model: how we work as a GTM agency, our ABM agency London service, demand generation and lead generation.

03/ the market

How B2B marketing is bought in Italy the industrial north

Istat counted just over 4.5 million active firms in industry and market services in 2023, employing more than 18.1 million people.

Most are small.

The weight is elsewhere: industry proper was 8.3% of firms but produced 35.3% of value added, and firms organised in groups (4.2% of the total) generated 57.9% of it.

That shapes where B2B agencies sit.

The specialists on this page cluster along the northern manufacturing belt (Milan, Bergamo, Verona and Legnago, Padua, Rovigo, Mantua) and in Emilia-Romagna and the Marche (Cesena, Urbania).

Rome has one credible option on our list, Bliss, and it is partly consumer.

Italian agencies sell to manufacturers that export, so many pitch "international" work.

But the website is often Italian only.

Yourbiz, for example, says it works with manufacturers in the international B2B market while leading in Italian.

Agenzia marketing B2B or digital marketing company?

Italian buyers search for an "agenzia marketing B2B" or an "agenzia di demand generation".

English-speaking buyers search for a "B2B digital marketing company in Italy".

They find the same firms; the difference is whether the firm can run the relationship in English.

The trade body

UNA, Aziende della Comunicazione Unite is the association of Italian communication companies.

Membership shows a firm is established; it is not a quality mark.

04/ the rules

B2B email in Italy Article 130 of the Privacy Code

Italy protects companies, not just people, from unsolicited marketing email.

General information, not legal advice.

QuestionWhat the rules saySource
The lawArticle 130 of the Codice Privacy (d.lgs. 196/2003) governs marketing by email, SMS, fax and automated calls; paragraph 2 requires prior, informed, specific consent.Garante, 2010
Does it cover companies?Yes. The Garante applies the consent rule "a prescindere dalla natura, di persone fisiche o giuridiche" (whether the recipient is a person or a legal entity).Garante, 2010
Can I email to ask for consent? No. A first message that asks for consent while carrying promotional content is itself unlawful.Garante, 2009
Soft opt-in for customersArticle 130(4) lets you email a customer who gave the address in a sale, about your own similar products, if they were told and did not refuse. Commentators read the Garante as applying it to natural persons only.Garante guidelines, 2013 · iusprivacy, 2026
Certified email (PEC)Addresses in the national INI-PEC register may not be used for promotional email without the recipients’ prior consent.Garante guidelines, 2013
Phone calls with an operatorOutside the Article 130(1) and (2) consent rule, but numbers on the public opt-out register (Registro pubblico delle opposizioni) must be excluded.ICT Legal Consulting
Named work addressesAn address such as nome.cognome@azienda.it is also personal data, so GDPR applies on top of Article 130.iusprivacy, 2026

What this means in practice. Cold email to Italian companies is not a safe channel.

Italian B2B programmes lean on trade fairs, LinkedIn, content, search and operator-led calls to numbers not on the opt-out register.

Email comes only after consent.

Ask any Italian agency where its email lists come from before you sign.

05/ language

Working with an Italian agency in English the cheapest filter you have

Italy ranks 59th of 123 in the EF English Proficiency Index 2025, with a score of 513, down 15 points on the previous edition.

English is common among export managers and in large firms; much less so in smaller companies and in marketing delivery.

For a foreign buyer, a genuine English website is a near-perfect proxy for an agency that has run cross-border work.

On this page Krein and Cdweb run English sites; the other ten lead in Italian, some with partial English pages.

Test a case study and a service page before you assume English delivery.

06/ shortlist

08/ buying

How to choose a B2B marketing agency in Italy five steps from abroad

The order matters.

Each step removes agencies that would have wasted a pitch meeting.

Write one brief and send it to everyone

Your ICP, the Italy segments you want first, the budget band, what you already run and what "good" looks like after six months.

Agencies quoting on the same brief can be compared; agencies quoting on a phone call cannot.

  • ✓ ICP and first segments
  • ✓ Budget band, not a number
  • ✓ What you run today
  • ✓ The measure of success

GTM QuestScoped and quoted in writing after the discovery call; media, data and tools as separate linesNot applicable

Trade-fair costs (stand, travel, follow-up) often dwarf agency fees in Italian B2B.

Budget for them separately, and ask whether your agency will plan the fair and the follow-up.

Each agency was re-read on its own website on 28 September 2026: homepage and contact page.

NetStrategy's contact page now gives Legnago (VR) and Milan.

Nothing comes from Clutch, Sortlist, GoodFirms or any other directory.

What is deliberately absent: a ranking, a price range, and awards, certifications or headcounts the agencies' current pages do not state.

GTM Quest editorial guide · Updated 10 October 2026

Evaluate Italian B2B marketing support by local buyer access, language and sales coverage.

Practical guide · 01

Choose the Italian segment before the campaign

An Italy-wide label is not a usable account brief. Decide which sector, buyer problem and purchasing relationship you want to reach. Italy’s market-entry guidance provides context for evaluating local relationships; your own account research should determine the actual campaign and operating model.

Your decision

Direct

Your team owns the sale and customer relationship. Confirm who can qualify, demonstrate and support the offer in the chosen segment.

Partner

Define what a local partner contributes: access, commercial coverage or delivery. Agree how the relationship is represented to the customer.

Agency

Use an agency for specified research, localisation and campaign work. Keep account ownership and sales responsibility explicit.

Practical guide · 02

Localisation includes proof and follow-up

Translating a landing page does not establish that the offer makes sense to local buyers. Test terminology, references and implementation expectations with people in the actual segment. Make language coverage part of the sales process as well as the campaign deliverables.

  1. 1

    Message

Adapt the problem explanation and offer with a subject-matter reviewer. Record claims that need local evidence or qualification.

  2. 2

    Proof

Provide examples relevant to the buyer’s operating situation. Explain when a case from another market has different assumptions.

  3. 3

    Response

Assign enquiry handling, demonstration and technical answers. Confirm the languages used at each step and the escalation route.

Practical guide · 03

Worked example: a UK supplier briefs an Italian distributor

Fictional example: a UK industrial-software supplier explores a distributor relationship. The first brief tests whether the distributor can reach relevant buyers and support a qualified conversation before committing to a broad marketing campaign.

  1. Stage 101

    Map

Identify target accounts, relevant roles and existing supplier relationships. Check how the distributor’s coverage matches that segment.
  2. Stage 202

    Enable

Prepare an approved proposition, product evidence and escalation guide. Distinguish distributor responsibilities from the supplier’s technical support.
  3. Stage 303

    Review

Assess useful introductions, buyer objections and support demands. Decide whether to widen coverage from evidence rather than activity volume.
